How do we collect personal information?
We will initially receive your enquiry via our website. We may then contact you via phone, email, SMS or other agreed communication methods in order to obtain further information to support and complete our service. Should you wish to complete an application we may also require information in hard copy form sending via postal services.
During the application process we may need to share your data with third party agencies in order to obtain specific information. The information returned may be in the form of email, secure data transfer or mail.
Information which we collect about you
When you browse our website we may automatically collect some information to improve and personalize your browsing experience. This may include details about your computer, IP address, which pages you visit and how you use our website. You may voluntarily provide us with personal information by filing in forms on our website, contacting us by email, telephone or other means. Typically this information would be provided when filling in a form to obtain a quote. Initially we may collect your name, address, contact details and financial requirements. Should you wish to complete an application we may also require details of your employment including income, personal financial circumstances and payment history, property details, any additional applicants information and any other information required for us to complete our service. We will not ask you for any information that we do not absolutely require in order to provide our financial advice service.
In order to provide you with a quote we may need to collect personal information which data protection legislation defines as sensitive personal information, such as medical history or criminal convictions. We will request your consent to process this information at the time you give it and by proceeding with obtaining a quote you give your explicit consent to such sensitive personal information being processed by us and our providers for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.
We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under the age of 16. If you are aged under 16 please get your parent or guardian’s permission before you provide any personal information to us.
If you are providing us with another person’s information you should first ask them to read this Privacy Policy. By giving us information about another person you are confirming that they have given you consent to provide the information to us and that they understand how their details will be used.
In order to ensure the Services we provide you continue to meet your needs we may ask you for feedback on your experience of using the Sites. Any feedback you provide will only be used as part of our programme of continuous improvement and will not be published on the Sites.
How we use your information
The information we collect will be used to provide a tailored and personal quote and to process an application should you wish to proceed. We will assess the information provided against published lender criteria to match a suitable product to your circumstances and needs.
Should you wish to proceed we will use your information to process the transaction. In order to do this we will share your information with the relevant parties in order for us to complete the transaction.
In the process of providing services to you, e.g. providing a quote, or processing an application, we may share your information with selected third parties as follows:
- Mortgage Lenders (confirmed before data shared)
- Mortgage sourcing providers such as Mortgage Brain
- Relevant third parties to obtain supporting information and to adhere to our regulatory requirements
- PebbleTree Ltd trading as Soho66 for call recording and monitoring
- Solicitors for conveyancing
- Trust pilot to obtain client feedback
Their use of your data will be governed by their own data policies and by submitting your information you agree to the relevant third party terms, conditions and data policy.
In order to provide a quote and our service we may need to search external sources such as the electoral roll, credit reference agencies, bankruptcy registers, CCJ registers and other sources. These searches may be recorded by credit reference agencies.
In order to obtain a credit search we may process your information through one of our partners. These partners are 1st Stop Home Loans, Central Trust Ltd, Equifinance Ltd, Norton Home Loans Ltd, Together Money Ltd, United Trust Bank Ltd, West One Secured Loans Ltd, Precise Mortgages and Paragon Bank Ltd, Each of these will use and store your data in different ways so you are advised to read their own privacy and data usage policy. We are able to advise which of these partners have been used on request.
Who might our providers share your personal information with?
Some of our providers, suppliers or third parties may use your information we have shared to assess your eligibility to obtain certain products and to check against fraud. They may do this by checking against existing information they hold for you, using fraud prevention services, against industry databases, using public information and comparing with Office of National statistics data.
Should you enter into a contract with one of our suppliers / lenders we strongly advise you to check their own privacy and data handling policy.
We may also share your information in the following circumstances.
- Believe Group Ltd, Financial Conduct Authority and / or other regulatory bodies for the purpose of compliance monitoring.
- Analytics and search engine providers to assist us in operating and optimizing the website and our service to you. This information is normally used in a way that does not directly identify you.
- Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to fulfil any contract we have with them or you.
- To comply with a court order or similar legal request.
- To protect the rights, property or safety of Lendlemortgages.co.uk or our business partners.
- To enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions.
- If we reasonably believe false or misleading information has been supplied details may be provided to fraud prevention agencies in order to protect Lendlemortgages.co.uk and our business partners against fraud.
We will not send you any advertising or marketing unless you have given your specific consent to do so. Details on how to change your preferences are contained later in this policy.
Why do we process your personal information?
We will only collect and use your personal information (as described in section 4) in accordance with data protection laws. Our grounds for processing your personal information are as follows:
1. Consent – Where necessary we will only collect and process your personal information if you have given your consent for us to do so, for example, we will only send you certain marketing emails and process any sensitive information about you if we have your consent.
2. Contract – We will use your personal data to fulfil our obligations under our contract with you. The contract is in relation to a fee payable by you to us for our services. This is only relevant when you have agreed to use our services to complete any transaction and is not relevant for information only services
3. Legitimate Interests – We may use and process some of your personal information where we have sensible and legitimate business grounds for doing so. Under European privacy laws there is a concept of “legitimate interests” as a justification for processing your personal information. Our legitimate interests for processing your personal information are:
3.1 to enable you to access and use tour services by: searching the websites of our partners to get you the best quotes; processing any transaction between you and a third party; and tracking sales. Using your information in this way is an essential part of us being able to provide the services to you;
3.2 to communicate with you about the services. We need to keep you informed about your use of the Services for example sending you a confirmation email of your quotes. This won’t include marketing communications unless you have given us your consent to receive these; and
3.3 to improve our Services. We may use your personal information to: personalise aspects of our service; for market research; and to use our smart search services. We constantly aim to improve our Services to you and using your personal information in this way helps us to do this.
From May 2018, you will have a right to object to our use of your personal information for these legitimate interests including where we may use your personal information to create a profile to inform customer demographics. If you raise an objection we will stop processing your personal information unless very exceptional circumstances apply, in which case we will let you know why we are continuing to process your personal information. How safe is your data and where we store your information
Your personal data’s security is very important to us. This is why, where it’s appropriate, our Site uses HTTPS to help keep information about you secure. However, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure.

Your personal data rights and how to contact us
You have certain rights under existing data protection legislation including the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, if you request it from us in writing.
From May 2018 you will have the following rights:

How can you amend your preferences?
We would like to send you information about our own products and services, by telephone, email and SMS. Please note that if you consent to being sent our marketing information by email then your data will be shared with and you will be contacted by the third party organisation SendInBlue, who will make contact on our behalf. If you consent to receiving SMS communication your data will be shared with and you will be contacted by third party organisation Nexmo, who will contact you on our behalf.
You are able to to change the ways in which we communicate with you in 2 ways. These are:-
- 1. By calling the office and requesting an amendment verbally.
- 2. By emailing hello@lendlemortgages.co.uk with you request to amend your preferences.
We will not send you any marketing unless you have specifically consented prior to us sending.
How long do we keep your personal data
Due to the nature of the services we offer we are legally obliged to retain your data for a minimum period of 6 years should you make a full application or complete a financial transaction. We have taken to position of keeping your data indefinitely due to the potential of having to supply and rely on this information after this time for litigation reasons.
